How To Stop Siri From Reading Messages On Airpods

AirPods has a unique feature that some users find useful while others find it irritating. AirPods allows Siri to read out text messages as soon as they arrive on the connected iPhone or iPad. After listening to the text messages, users can speak and reply to the text messages hands-free.

It may seem to be a great feature, but sometimes, it is distracting, especially when the user is engaging in doing something important. If you want to stop Siri from reading out any messages on AirPods, we will illustrate the steps thoroughly.

Why Should You Disable AirPods Reading Text Messages option?

There are several reasons why some users prefer to turn on Siri by reading text messages. First of all, Siri starts reading text messages as soon as it arrives over any other app or activity the user could be performing on the iPhone. Therefore, it suddenly interrupts the operation of the user who is engaged in his iPhone. This means if you are listening to any podcast or music, watching any video, and even playing games, Siri stops them on a priority basis and reads out the text messages.

If your AirPods are connected, you can listen to text messages. This sudden interruption is going to break your concentration and irritate you if multiple messages drop in frequently. That is why most iPhone users tend to disable the AirPods announcing text messages option.
