Ans: Though the hot airflow of a heat gun is quite less harmful compared to a naked flame. Yet, if aimed at flesh/skin, then it may result in catching fire to extremely flammable objects, break glass or damage them.
However, the fan motors and power switches won’t be spark-free and may pose some danger of ignition. For instance, heat gun tools, such as open containers with flammable vapors, substances or hoods are used to regulate flammable vapors. So, it is not used with any flammable materials, as it may start igniting and cause a risk of fire.

4. Why heat gun smokes while operating?

Ans: Commonly, smoke occurs due to the burning of the manufacturing oils (or residual oil) in the initial start-up of a tool. This smoke gets cleared in a minute or two. In case, if the smoke continues after each application, then it’s time to return the product to where you bought it or inform the manufacturer about the problem with your heat gun tool.
